Lunch with Luci Ellis

Recently, Melbourne Forum hosted lunch with Luci Ellis which provided members with the opportunity for a stimulating discussion on how Australia can position itself in a world of profound economic and social change. Luci is Chief Economist for the Westpac Banking Group and was formerly an Assistant Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, so came with a wealth of experience in global economics. She was able to explain a complex set of issues in an engaging and demystifying presentation to a largely lay audience so that we all came away far smarter. Her explanation of how we measure productivity and its relevance to economic thinking was particularly illuminating. Luci publishes regularly on the Westpac IQ site, offering her insights to a broad audience.
