Melbourne Forum Winter Newsletter 2025

Our Annual General Meeting represents an opportunity to become more than a member of Melbourne Forum. We will be inviting members to actively contribute their time and expertise to our organisation's success and governance through nominating for the Board of Directors and/or for Committee memberships. As part of our AGM’s formal proceedings, we will be seeking nominations for these positions.

We are alerting you now so that you have time to consider your interest and commitment in nominating for a stimulating and rewarding Board or Committee position.

All Committee positions will be open for nominations. Following a recent review of our committees by the Board, our four committees will be as follows:
 

• Membership and Engagement Committee – where members take the lead in ensuring prospective, new and ongoing members are well engaged`
   
• Program Committee – where members initiate, plan and organise our events calendar of interactive lunch, drinks and dinner sessions
   
• Fellowship Committee – where members ensure we have a great pipeline of emerging leaders we support as MF Fellows
   
• Member Forums – where members take accountability for leading our Dangerous Dinners, Non-Fiction Forum, and Open Door Series

If you are currently a member of a particular Committee, you will need to renominate.

The upcoming AGM represents a valuable opportunity to refresh our governance structure and ensure we are well-equipped to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.

The formal AGM notice and nomination forms will be issued in due course. This advance notice gives you time to consider how you might be able to contribute to the effectiveness and success of your Forum. Any current Board Member would be happy to discuss the Board commitments and committees with you. If you are not sure where to start, please contact me at the email address below.
