Lunch with Alan Kohler
Hosted by Ian Dunn AM
The world order is changing dramatically and quickly, whether geo-politically, economically and in parallel with unpredictable developments in climate change and artificial intelligence. While we now have far more technological capacity to address world problems the predictable rules-based systems with which we have become comfortable seems to be coming to an end. None of this has been helped, if not directly caused, by the impact of an unstable and unpredictable US economic and geostrategic policy. If the US is no longer a reliable partner, it seems prudent for Europe and others to look for alternative strategies and alliances.
But what is the feasibility of isolating the US until it returns to a more predictable state? Leaving aside the complications and challenges of getting countries to collaborate to achieve this, along the Mark Carney line, are the other economies large enough to trade among themselves?
We are very fortunate to have Alan join us as Guest Conversation Leader whose wide range of expertise, experience and wisdom ensures he is well-equipped to address these challenges and propose possible solutions and outcomes.
Please join us to hear from Alan, who is well known for his regular business and economics reports on the ABC and for his writings on these issues.
