- Dinner with Natalie O'Brien, CEO Melbourne Food and Wine Festival
Victorians are passionate about food and wine and our desire to share this enthusiasm has been a catalyst in establishing our reputation as an exciting and vibrant food and wine destination which is showcased every year with the world-renowned Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (MFWF). The Festival was a humble event when Natalie O'Brien took over as Chief Executive Officer 15 years ago. Under her stewardship it has grown into an internationally acclaimed blockbuster, attracting global food and wine superstars without losing focus on local and regional champions.
Natalie’s love of food has been passed on through generations of publicans in her family. She is a recognised influencer due to her enviable experience in collaborating, eating and drinking with Australia's (and the world's) most inspirational chefs and winemakers. MFWF has sponsored and showcased top global and local chefs, including Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver, Dan Hunter and Marco Pierre White.
Natalie identifies performance improvement opportunities and engenders positive change. Her corporate, governmental and media networks have led to vast international exposure, elevating Melbourne’s brand position as a vibrant food and wine destination.
At the core of Natalie’s vision is a strategic plan that supports and promotes Victoria’s food and wine industry globally - a vision that was evident this year when she successfully orchestrated the 25th anniversary Festival alongside the Worlds’ 50 Best Restaurant Awards.
Join us to hear Natalie’s unique stories and how we are shaping the future of food and wine.
