Melbourne Forum is delighted to host Sir Rod Eddington AO at a lunch event as part of its ongoing economic challenges series. Sir Rod has vast experience in the commercial sector and as a consultant to governments in the United Kingdom and Australia.
As immediate past chair of Infrastructure Australia he is uniquely placed to comment on the Federal Government’s infrastructure initiatives announced in the recent budget.
Sir Rod was also CEO of British Airways and Managing Director of Cathay Pacific. He has held numerous high-profile board positions and remains a director of 21st Century Fox.
In the infrastructure space he conducted a transport study for the Tony Blair UK government and more recently has advised the Victorian Government on its infrastructure challenges.
Melbourne Forum cannot think of a better choice to discuss the country’s infrastructure and demographic issues. Usual format will apply to this event: Sir Rod will speak for about 15-20 minutes about how he sees the way ahead following the budget with particular emphasis on infrastructure, but not exclusively. He will then engage in discussion and take questions for about 30 minutes. This format is proving extremely popular and enables participants to engage in a discussion with our guest. Melbourne Forum looks forward to welcoming Sir Rod.
