The challenge of living the final stages of our life with Alzheimer’s is an increasing reality for many, but Australia is a world leader in dementia research and there is continuous progress in making a difference for people living with dementia, their carers and families.
At this important lunch Maree McCabe, CEO Alzheimer’s Australia Vic https://vic.fightdementia.org.au/, will help us break down the myths about Alzheimer's disease. Maree has overseen the establishment of multi-disciplinary regional hubs; the growth of the use of technology in dementia education and support including the Virtual Dementia Experience, The Dementia-Friendly Home app, EDIE (Educational Dementia Immersive Experience) and The Virtual Forest; as well as the expansion of early intervention services and programs for people living with younger onset dementia, along with their families, carers and friends.
Maree has worked in senior roles in the mental health and aged care sectors, including Executive Operations for TLC Aged Care, Director of Clinical Resources at The Melbourne Clinic, General Manager of Hospitals for St John of God Healthcare and Surveyor for the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.
This is a topic that many fear for themselves and their family. Don’t miss a chance to learn more about it.
