Signature dinner with Professor Hugh White

Australias Place in the World of Trump

Signature dinner with Professor Hugh White
22nd June 2017

Trump’s personality and style – brash, unpredictable, contradictory and thin-skinned – promises to have a meaningful impact on his engagement in foreign affairs. What is Australia's place in the world of Donald Trump and what does that mean for Australia?

Hugh White is Professor of Strategic Studies in the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University.  He works on Australian strategic and defence policy, and the regional and global security issues affecting Australia.  He has worked previously as a journalist, ministerial staffer, in the Defence Department and with Australian Strategic Policy Institute. His recent publications include the Quarterly Essay Power Shift: Australia’s future between Washington and Beijing and The China Choice: Why America should share power.

There is no current international issue more important right now than the ‘Trump Effect’!
