Kathryn Fagg is member of the Board of the Reserve Bank of Australia, as well as of listed companies, Boral (construction and building products), Djerriwarrh Investments (a listed investment company) and Incitec Pivot (explosives and fertilisers).   She also chairs the Melbourne Recital Centre and is on the board of the Breast Cancer Network of Australia. 

As a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Technological Sciences and Engineering, Kathryn is the chair of the Industry and Innovation Forum.  She is also a panel member for the Australian Government’s National Opera Review.  Kathryn is a member of Chief Executive Women – where she has led both the Scholarship and Business Engagement Committees.

Kathryn transitioned to a Non-Executive Director portfolio over the last two years.  Previously, she held senior executive roles leading businesses in the logistics, steel and banking industries in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. 

For the last decade of her executive career, Kathryn had a particular focus on Asia.  With both Linfox Logistics and BlueScope Steel, Kathryn led large businesses in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China and India – including as Chair of Tata BlueScope Steel Limited in India.

After commencing her professional career as a petroleum engineer with Esso (now Exxon Mobil), Kathryn joined McKinsey & Co, the management consultants.  From McKinsey, Kathryn moved to ANZ where her key roles included General Manager, Retail Banking in New Zealand and Managing Director, Banking Products.

Kathryn holds a B.E. (Hons – Chemical Engineering) from the University of Queensland and an M. Com. (Hons – Organisation Behaviour) from the University of New South Wales.  

Kathryn lives in Melbourne, but outside of Australia, she has also lived in Singapore and Wellington, New Zealand.
