A virtuoso one-woman theatre piece full of humour, heart and wit.
Evelyn Krape explodes onto the stage in a highly physical, comic and utterly engaging performance. With director Lois Ellis, she revisits the characters from her headline-making 1980s play Female Parts, now thirty years on.
Comprising three monologues, More Female Parts celebrates women of all ages with ardour and invention, exploring issues from the perspective of a “mature” woman and her barely recognised place in the community.
With great physical skill, Evelyn allows the audience to experience the sexism and inequality that still exists for all women today, in a comic and dramatic tour de force. Bold characters confront divorce, the glass ceiling, and control within a relationship, in a hilarious and highly theatrical style.
Written by Sara Hardy especially for Evelyn Krape's unique talents, this is a must-see performance.
After the show, join other Melbourne Forum members and the star of the show, Evelyn Krape, for a drink and a chat.
“A joy and a privilege to watch… Krape is a magnetic performer and a stalwart of Melbourne theatre who we see infrequently on stage these days.” Herald Sun
“Krape's impish cheek assures the patriarchy is dissected with much amusement.” The Age
“One of the beauties of Hardy’s writing and Krape’s performance – the ability to quickly switch emotional gears, from laugh out loud hilarity one second to thought-provoking pathos and genuine concern the next… rewarding, often laugh out loud funny.” Joe Calleri
