Be swept away with the romance and the revolution of the most beautiful, sublime music of Mozart and Spohr, performed by the Australian Romantic and Classical Chamber Ensemble soloists at the Melbourne Recital center.
Enjoy the beautiful rich sounds and textures of Classical period strings performing works by Mozart and Spohr, along with the star of the basset clarinet Nicole van Bruggen, and featuring our very own Melbourne Forum member Rachael Beesley from the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra.
Spohr introduces us to a revolutionary new world of string playing, followed by Mozart’s famous Clarinet Quintet, written for the Viennese master clarinettist Anton Stadler. The Grande Sestetto Concertante, familiar to audiences as Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola, will be performed here in the magnificent chamber music version.
“Australia’s brightest & shiniest new orchestra… an important addition to Australia’s musical landscape.” Limelight Magazine
After the performance you will have the opportunity to meet Rachael and some members of the ensemble for a glass of wine.
