Experience a new nation through the eyes of its former First Lady
For those members that have indicated your expression of interest, we are holding our first Kalan Hamutuk (Tetum an evening together) to share a glass of wine and talk about the impending trip to Timor Leste!
Dr Kirsty Gusmao AO will talk about the trip, discuss the itinerary and most importantly, answer any questions.

The tour commences in Dili, the capital of Timor Leste.
There will be guided visits to major attractions and historic sites such as the Santa Cruz Cemetery, The Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation (CAVR) and The Resistance Museum in Dili; The Museum in Dare; 'Australia House' in Balibo; as well as Primary schools in the surrounding districts of Maubara, Liquica, Baliba, Baucau. The tour will include meetings with senior government Ministers and briefings from the new nation’s first President, Mr Xanana Gusmão, and other revered local leaders. For those feeling a bit adventurous there will also be opportunity for leisure activities such as a walk up to Christo Rai, snorkelling and a bicycle ride.
The first three participants to book for the tour will be offered accommodation at the Prime Ministerial Residential Compound.
